FAST LINE TRAINING BRAND REFRESH
Problem: A visual design update was a part of the company's transition from a single-site based training centre to a national online hub. Full details of the UX side of that process can be found on the UX page.
Goal: To update the visuals of the company to be in keeping with the refreshed website (website visuals were also updated by me).
Solution: After the update of the visuals and UX (both designed by myself), the next task was to integrate the updated style in the form of banners, flags, and various other branded products and merchandise.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED INFOGRAPHIC
Problem: Users of the company's services often arrive at their courses without appropriate ID and/or protective equipment. The requirements are explained on the company website but could be clearer, especially for the portion of the customer base that knows English as a second language.
Goal: The goal of this project was to communicate in a friendly, concise way, what delegates to the company's courses would need to bring with them in order to be allowed on track to complete their training.
Solution: I designed the format, artwork and created vector illustrations for each of the items from scratch in Adobe Illustrator, before compiling them in Adobe InDesign ready for print or export as a PDF to be sent to customers as part of their joining instructions pack.

FAST LINE TRAINING CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT

Final Design

Alternative Versions
Problem: In keeping with the brand refresh, the company also needed update certificates for when a customer completed their training, as proof of their new qualification.
Goal: To create a visually appealing, clearly legible certificate template in keeping with the brand aesthetic.
Solution: I produced three alternatives which I presented to the client. All of which used the new overlapping diagonals structure seen on the website and in updated materials but varied in their use of spacing, typography and a number of other areas. The final decision was made to go with the cleanest of the three as seen above.

ORIGIN VO2 LOGO DESIGN

The Origin Gym Logo

The Origin VO2
Problem: The Origin Health & Fitness was a well-established brand with an existing logomark. The launch of the Origin VO2 brand required an updated logomark that captured the spirit of the main brand while bringing something new. Initially conceived for the locally based gym, the primary Origin gym logo uses a tapering shape to indicate gentle motion as well as softer colours and rounded corners to convey a less intimidating feel. This wouldn't be appropriate for Origin VO2, whose target demographic consists of high-level competitive athletes.
Goal: To create a recognisable extension of the existing brand, while appealing to the more niche demographic with very different goals and expectations.
Solution: Using the existing logomark as inspiration, I kept the tapering shapes and added harder edges and a cutout within the encircling shapes. I also put the ends on a diagonal. All of this creates a more scientific, measured feel, while the diagonals give a sense of aggression and motion. For the "VO2", I used and a slightly grungy italic font to conjure the feel of speed and acceleration.

ORIGIN VO2 SOCIAL MEDIA LAUNCH
Problem: The client was the owner of a gym that had decided to offer a new service, metabolic testing, and needed to advertise the service on social media and in print.
Goal: Persuade and entertain, of course, but also educate potential customers on the basics of what metabolic testing could do for them.
Solution: To achieve this, I used eye-catching imagery, testimonials and succinct, copy and visuals to convey the benefits of the service in a way that any potential customer could quickly understand.

ORIGIN VO2 EXPLAINER POSTER
Problem: The client was the owner of a gym that had decided to offer a new service, metabolic testing, and needed to advertise the service on social media and in print.
Goal: To convey the benefits of metabolic testing as succinctly as possible in an engaging way.
Solution: To achieve this, I first had to understand how the service worked. The client hooked me up to the machines and I gave it a try myself, after which we discussed my results, what they meant, and what a potential customer would do to follow up on this information.
I used eye-catching imagery, testimonials and succinct, copy and visuals to convey the benefits of the service in a way that any potential customer could understand without any technical knowledge.
